Watch Out for Real Estate Scams!
Scammers often target buyers, sellers & landlords.
The scammer finds the tax records for land or vacant houses, then gets a fake ID and pretends to be the owner.
They call a REALTOR & ask them to sell the property. They complete the entire transaction acting like the seller.
They ask the title company to send the documents to them so they can sign long distance.
The property closes & the title company wires money to the scammer thinking all along they are the real owner/seller.
Other scams target buyers' down payment money. They steal large sums of money via online tactics.
There are also tenants who scam by using fake cashiers' checks. Scammer tenants also come up with fake reasons to sue the landlord or property manager.
Be aware & hire experienced REALTORS to avoid these activities!
