Can I Use an Old Survey When Selling a Property?

Most sellers of real estate obtained a survey when they bought the property.

Now they are selling & the new buyer will also want a survey.

If no major changes have been made to the property then an old survey may be acceptable to the buyer, title company, and lender.

Some buyers may want a new survey ($500+- on a single-family house on a city lot).

If there are changes to the property like a pool or room addition the old survey "might" still be acceptable with the proper documentation.

As with most items in a real estate sale, who pays for items like this are negotiable.

Consult with your Realtor to determine options you may have when it comes to surveys & their copywrites.
