Owner Resident

FLAT FEE vs  % of RENT

Most Austin property management companies charge a percentage of the rent (6% to 10%) to manage your property.Suppose the rent is $2,500 per month. $2,500 x  8%  =  $200 per month. Now suppose the rent is $2,500 per month and the management fee is only $120 per month. You just saved $80 per month.$80 per month in savings = $960 per year. Over 10 years, $9,600 was saved. If you own two houses, the total is $9,600 x 2 = $19,200.Another consideration is that a $2,500 per month rental house is actually easier to manage than a $1,200 per month rental property. Why? Because they have better quality residents and normally require fewer repairs, making them easier to manage.
